DESIDERIUM 2026
DESIDERIUM is an exhibition of contemporary art presented in the prestigious, historic interiors of Palazzo Pisani Revedin in the heart of Venice. Curated by Gina Affinito, the project reflects on desire as one of the most fundamental yet ambiguous human experiences.
Desire is depicted here not as a state of fulfillment, but as an open and dynamic process shaped by tension, lack, and expectation. The exhibition explores desire as a driving force of artistic practice, as well as a space where memory, identity, corporeality, and imagination converge.
The presented works do not aim for narrative resolutions or unequivocal interpretations. Instead, they offer the viewer a multitude of perspectives and critical reflections. Incompleteness and ambiguity are treated as essential elements of the creative process, enabling the emergence of new meanings and individual readings.
The gathering of artists from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds creates a space for dialogue that reflects contemporary forms of longing, projection, and transformation. DESIDERIUM invites audiences to actively experience desire as a force that continuously shapes both art and human perception.

This digital photograph captures a moment of pure, natural alchemy, where crystal-clear water washes over rocks covered in golden algae, creating a composition oscillating between documentation and abstraction. The play of light in the flowing water creates luminous arabesques on the rocky surface, transforming a simple glance at the shoreline into a fluid image of textures and reflections. The illuminated print on canvas enhances the transparency and luminosity of the image, highlighting golden patterns and veining reminiscent of noble marbles or informal paintings, proving that nature remains the greatest abstract artist.
